| Systems Biology at Rostock University |
Systems Biology at Rostock University
The Systems Biology and Bioinformatics research group at Rostock University (O.Wolkenhauer) focusses on the development of systems- and control methodologies, using mathematical modelling and statistical data analysis applied to complex dynamical systems. Although these methodologies that can be applied in general, we concentrate on applications in molecular and cell biology.

| Tyson Lab, Virginia Tech, USA |
Tyson Lab, Virginia Tech, USA
A research group located at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, specializing in computational models of cell cycle regulation.
The group also develops software for network modeling (JigCell), parameter estimation (PET), and bifurcation analysis (Oscill8). |
|
| BioSim (FP6) |
BioSim is a Network of Excellence established by the European Commission under its 6th Framework Programme. BioSim was initiated on December 1, 2004. The main objective of the Network is to demonstrate how the use of modern simulation technique through a deeper and more qualitative understanding of the underlying biological, pathological and pharmacological processes can lead to a more rational drug development process, improved treatment procedures, and a reduction in the needs for animal experiments.

| Systems Biology at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) |
| Systems biology at PNNL is focused on understanding cellular networks-protein networks involved in cell signaling as well as networks of cells and their metabolic pathways. Advanced sensors, precise analytical methods, enhanced imaging, sophisticated computer modeling-these are combined to observe cells responding to environmental changes, interrogating their surroundings, and communicating with other organisms in communities. |
|
| Cell Decision Processes Center, MIT |
| MIT's Cell Decision Processes (CDP) Center is a multi-investigator cross-discplinary research program that takes a systems biology approach to the analysis of programmed cell death in human cells.CDP is a NIGMS Center of Excellence in Complex Biomedical Systems Research. |
|
| EUSYSBIO |
| EUSYSBIO is a specific support action (SSA) within the 6th Research Framework Program (FP6) of the European Union. |
|
| HepatoSys - Systems Biology Competence Network of Hepatocytes (Germany) |
HepatoSys is a german national project on systems biology of hepatocytes.
HepatoSys will focus on a quantitative understanding of complex and dynamic cellular processes in regeneration (network project Freiburg) as well as detoxification and de-differentiation (network project Stuttgart) in human hepatocytes. The aim is to arrive at a holistic understanding of these life processes and to be able to present and make these processes accessible in silico, ie through software, on the computer.
The project is funded by BMBF. |
|
| The Lipid MAPS Consortium |
The Lipid MAPS Consortium is now proposing to focus on the lipid section of the metabolome by developing an integrated metabolomic system capable of characterizing the global changes in lipid metabolites ("lipidomics"). Our consortium has developed a Lipid Metabolites and Pathways Strategy, termed LIPID MAPS, that applies a global integrated approach to the study of lipidomics.
LIPD MAPS is funded by National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) Glue Grant. |
|
| National Translational Cancer Research Network (NTRAC, UK) |
| NTRAC has been established to help improve the quality of cancer care by creating a national network of cancer research centres, embedded in the NHS, that integrates scientific and clinical expertise, and shares knowledge and resources for the benefit of cancer patients. |
|
| Cell Migration Consortium / Nature Cell Migration Gateway |
The Cell Migration Gateway is a comprehensive and regularly updated resource for anyone interested in cell migration.
This gateway represents a unique collaboration between The Cell Migration Consortium (CMC) and Nature Publishing Group (NPG) and is designed to facilitate navigation through the complex world of cell migration research. |
