Biology/Mathematical Modeler (Scientist/Sr. Scientist) 
Responsibilities:
As part of the Applied Quantitative
Genotherapeutics group, you will be working with a multi-disciplinary team
which utilizes both bench biology and computational skills. You will use
your understanding of biology and computational expertise to partner with, and
support, project teams and individuals in research, clinical or business units.
A desirable candidate is someone with a strong mathematical background (for
example - physics, chemical or electrical engineering, etc.) who is
willing to apply these skills to biological and physiological systems in order
to aid in generation and optimization of biotherapeutics. It is required
that this person have some general awareness of biological systems. Another
desirable candidate is someone with a multi-disciplinary biological background
(for example - biology, biochemistry, immunology etc.) who would be willing to
learn the mathematical skills necessary to model the systems described
above. An ideal candidate would possess all of the above
qualifications. This position will be located in South
San Francisco, with the group being split between Cambridge
MA and South
San Francisco.
Qualifications:
BS, MS, or PhD in the biomedical or physical sciences (or equivalent) required with a minimum of 2-3 years experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or chemical industry. Awareness of current modeling techniques or a strong background in biology is preferred. The successful candidate should be willing to learn new areas of science and be a superior written and oral communicator.
